Indie developer Hypersect revealed today that players can try out Inversus Deluxe, the ultimate edition of last year’s charming arcade-inspired Inversus, for free this weekend on PC via Steam. The free trial period began at 1pm ET today, and will run until 1pm ET on Sunday, October 15.
In the meantime, the game has also been discounted by 50%, and people will be able to pick it up for that price until next Tuesday, October 17. In case you didn’t know, Inversus Deluxe evolved from what was originally supposed to just be a “1.5” update, but the version saw a name changed when Hypersect noticed how much they were adding. The twelve new versus maps and four new arcade maps bring the map count up to 50, and these new maps take advantage of the new split-shot ammo.
A new mode where players fight against increasingly difficult waves of AI bots has been introduced to the single players, as well as new 1v1 and 2v2 modes in multiplayer. Hopefully this free weekend populates the servers more so players can truly see how the game’s multiplayer works. Ryan Juckett, the main developer behind Inversus Deluxe, had the following to say about the game’s free weekend:
“Inversus has grown leaps and bounds since the base game launched on Steam last year… Inversus Deluxe has plenty to offer the solo score chaser, the group of friends on the couch, and the competitive online gamer. This weekend, I’m looking forward to introducing them to the game and bringing new faces and new life into the community!”
Inversus Deluxe is now available on Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox One, while the PS4 version of Inversus will be upgraded next month.
