With every passing hour, it seems we continue to learn more about what’s in store once E3 2019 gets underway. Most recently, we have now learned more about Microsoft’s E3 2019 briefing and what will be shown.
In a new tweet from Xbox head Phil Spencer, he gave fans more of an indication of what to expect in the coming weeks. Spencer said that the team at Microsoft finished a rehearsal for E3 2019 today and in the process stated that 14 first-party games in total will be shown throughout the company’s conference. “We have 14 Xbox Game Studios games in the show this year, more first party games than we’ve ever had in the show. Fun times,” he said.
With Microsoft having previously announced a variety of different studio purchases over the past year, this shouldn’t come as all that shocking. There are already plenty of games we’re aware of that we’ll more than likely see at the show such as Forza, Halo Infinite, Gears 5, and Gears Tactics, among others. But with all of these new developers now falling under Xbox Game Studios, it seems very likely we’ll now get to see what they have cooking up as well.
Between a variety of first-party games, third-party publishers looking for a stage to show off their games in the absence of Sony at E3, and rumors of new hardware being divulged, it seems like Microsoft’s showing this year could be quite massive. Be sure to tune in for yourself when it takes place on Sunday, June 9.
Just finishing our final E3 rehearsal here with the team in Redmond. Feel really good about the briefing. Lots to show. We have 14 Xbox Game Studios games in the show this year, more first party games than we’ve ever had in the show. Fun times. #XboxE3
