This morning on the Xbox blog, Mircosoft revealed the newest colorway for the Xbox controller. Sporting a bright red faceplate and a white back case, the Pulse Red controller is another fantastic new addition to the three other great controller designs they’ve already put out for the Xbox family of systems since November.
Microsoft promises that the controller will launch on February 9 in most Xbox territories and today in China for $64.99, which is the same price as its blue counterpart and a head-scratching $5 more than its Carbon Black and Robot White counterparts. That price point puts it just $5 behind the PlayStation 5’s DualSense and the Switch’s Pro Controller.
Love at first press.

This reveal also comes hot off the heels of Microsoft gauging their fans’ interest in the DualSense’s more premium features, like adaptive triggers and more advanced rumble. Microsoft does have a tendency to revise their hardware multiple times during a console generation to catch up to their competition, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a DualSense-style revision to their already very impressive controller. Hopefully it comes in Pulse Red!
The Pulse Red controller is currently up for pre-order at the Microsoft Store. Just like with every other new Xbox controller, Microsoft is also throwing in a code for a 14-day trial of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. So far, fan reception and reaction to the latest color has been generally very positive.

New colors are always welcome additions anytime, especially since the Xbox Design Lab has been closed since last year. Microsoft says that the controller customization shop will re-open at some point this year.
