Today Bethesda detailed the updates coming for a number of its games to support the upcoming Xbox One X.
The following games will receive an update: Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Fallout 4, Skyrim Special Edition, Dishonored 2 & Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, The Evil Within 2, The Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
- Supports 4K Resolution
- Enhanced features include:

Fallout 4
- Supports 4K Resolution
- Enhanced features include:

- Enhanced draw distance for trees, grass, objects and NPCs
- Enhanced God Ray effects
Skyrim Special Edition
- Supports 4K Resolution
- Enhanced features include:
- Dynamic Resolution
Dishonored 2 & Dishonored: Death of the Outsider
- Supports 4K Resolution
- Enhanced features include:
- Dynamic Resolution
- Improved framerate stability
- 4K textures
- Improved geometry/draw distances
- Improved anti-aliasing
- Improved shadows quality
The Evil Within 2
- Enhanced Features include:
- Upgraded resolution
- Higher framerate
- 30 fps lock removal
The Elder Scrolls Online
- Supports Native 4K Resolution and HDR
- Enhanced features include:
- Increased view distance
- Upgraded shadows with Screen Space Ambient Occlusion
- Upgraded water reflections
The patch for The Elder Scrolls Online will actually hit next week, while the update for The Evil Within 2 was actually released today, and below you can check out what it does exactly.
- Increased display resolution (3200 x 1800 native resolution output at 3840 x 2160)
- Improved framerate stability
- Option to disable 30 fps limit for higher frame rate
Interestingly, if you aren’t getting an Xbox One X, but you’re playing The Evil Within 2 on PS4 Pro, you’re also getting some goodies with today’s patch. While the native resolution isn’t even close to what Xbox One X users can enjoy, PS4 Pro owners can enjoy a 1080p mode with “substantially higher” frame rate.

Release dates have not been provided for the updates coming for the other games, besides a mention that they will come “this quarter and next year.”
