KT Racing, aka Kylotonn, officially revealed WRC 9, the next mainline entry from World Rally Championship series, aiming for a late Summer release this year on current-gen consoles, with the next-gen versions coming sometime later.
WRC 9, similar to its predecessors, is committed to bringing a realistic experience of racing against time in the dirt. With WRC 8, KT Racing added some brand new features to the game, allowing you to have better control over your car, events, racing schedules, and a team of engineers to help you stay on top as you progress more and take part in difficult tournaments.
While the announcement trailer doesn’t reveal anything special about the game, the developer has shared a bunch of new details on WRC 9 on its own website. According to Kylotonn, WRC 9 will be hosting three new rallies including Japan, New Zealand, and Kenya, increasing the number of rounds in a season to 13. In addition to the new tracks, the classic ones will be available as well. Moreover, WRC 9 features Hyundai Motorsport, M-Sport Ford, and Toyota Gazoo Racing as three main teams of WRC, along with over 50 drivers that you can either choose to play as or compete against them.
The career mode is more completed than ever with some new gameplay mechanics and more opportunities to improve your behind-the-scene team. In the case of simulating the cars, the development team has put the emphasis on the suspension, braking, and weight transfer systems in order to make more challenging and realistic for veteran players.
WRC 9 is set to be launched on September 3 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Epic Games Store. Next-gen editions will be available on a later date. It’s worth noting that KT Racing has acquired the rights for WRC 10 and WRC 11 as well from the official promoter of the World Rally Championships.
