The Wonderful 101: Remastered has crossed the $2 million mark in the home stretch of its Kickstarter campaign, funding further additional content in the form of “Luka’s Second Mission,” and unlocking two more stretch goals with less than 24 hours to go.
The new stretch goals are orchestral re-recordings of the game’s “Tables Turns” and “The Won-Stoppable Wonderful 100” tracks at $2.25 million and support for additional languages at $2.5 million.

Announced at the beginning of February, the Kickstarter campaign was a means for developer PlatinumGames to give The Wonderful 101 a second chance on modern platforms and for the studio to take its first shot at self-publishing. The move proved to be a success within hours as the campaign quickly reached its initial goals for funding a Nintendo Switch, Steam, and PlayStation 4 version of the remaster.
Momentum kept rolling from there, with the campaign reaching funding goals for a time attack mode, remixed soundtrack, and an epilogue side-scroller called “Luka’s First Mission” just a few days later.
“Luka’s Second Mission” will presumably be the follow up.
PlatinumGames has been back in the spotlight in a big way as of late. Not only has The Wonderful 101 garnered plenty of buzz, but the developer also revealed its plans to open a new studio in Tokyo, and announced its next superhero action game under the working title “Project G.G.”
This was all done under the banner “Platinum 4,” which has one more announcement left to be made. According to Platinum’s Hideki Kamiya, it’s going to be “a doozy.”
At the time of publication, The Wonderful 101: Remastered Kickstarter has 30,834 backers and a total of $2,029,576 raised. Platinum will also be doing a closing Twitch stream on Friday to celebrate both the success of the campaign and the studio’s self-publishing debut.
The Wonderful 101: Remastered releases in the US on May 19.
