If patience truly is a virtue, then Nintendo Switch owners should be considered saints, as Bethesda announced that the upcoming Nintendo Switch version of their first-person shooter Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will release alongside a variety of alternate game sleeves.
Bethesda’s announcement stated that the sleeves were a result of the publisher wanting to do “something special for [their] patient Nintendo fans.” This gesture is much appreciated as Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows all the way back in October 2017.
All of the alternate covers that Bethesda announced are available to download on their website right now. Additionally, the cover featuring BJ Blazkowicz firing a gun from an area of high ground will be available for purchase at GameStop locations all across North America when the game is released next month.
Late last year, DualShockers’ Logan Moore called the game “one of the generation’s best shooters” while later stating that Switch port was shaping up to be the “worst way” to enjoy the title. While the game clearly won’t run the same way it does on beefier hardware, it’ll be interesting to see if the Switch’s portability makes up for its technical shortcomings. After all, sometimes you just want to be able to fight fascists on the go.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will be released for the Nintendo Switch on June 29th, 2018. You can preorder the game on Amazon here, and you can check out the alternative Switch covers for yourself below.
