A week ago today, Super Smash Bros. series director, Masahiro Sakurai brought us into his home to reveal the next DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Min Min from the 2017 cult classic fighting game, ARMS. In that presentation, it was confirmed that Min Min would become the 76th fighter to join the roster today, June 29 in the States.
When will Min Min unlock in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?
In typical Nintendo fashion, however, we have no word from anyone on the team or at Nintendo as to when in the day we can expect the first character from Fighters Pass #2 and the 8.0.0 patch for the game aside from a few breadcrumbs left to us on various official Smash Bros. websites from different regions and the pattern of when the last few DLC fighters were released.
For every region in the Eastern Hemisphere (between Japan and the UK) the various Smash Bros. sites say that Min Min releases on June 30. That’s easily the biggest piece of concrete evidence outside of speculation based on patterns. That means that the U.S. will see Min Min between 7 PM and 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
Here is our best guess
Taking into consideration that the Japanese workday doesn’t normally start until around 8:30, it’s easier to narrow that time to between 8 PM and 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
Now, looking back at when each DLC fighter for the last Fighters Pass came out, it’s easier to narrow down when exactly Min Min might come out even further. The most recent DLC fighter, Byleth, from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, as well as Hero and Joker all released at 9 PM Eastern Time. The other two DLC characters came out at different times, however.
Banjo and Kazooie came out just an hour earlier than normal at 8 PM Eastern Time. Terry Bogard was highly irregular in that he released at 9 AM Eastern Time, so it’s fair to rule that time out entirely since it was already a few hours ago.
Based on all this information, it’s safe to assume that Min Min, her stage Spring Stadium, the 8.0.0 balance patch, and a few Mii costumes will be added to the game between 8 and 9 PM Eastern Time in the States.
