Atlus published a new survey on March 5, asking its fans over 60 questions, on various subjects from their favorite games and consoles, to how the Coronavirus pandemic changed their lifestyle, gaming and spending habits.
Note that while the survey is in Japanese, you could easily navigate it even if you don’t speak the language with Google Translate. The questions are very simple. Atlus itself is also expecting western fans to answer the survey as the first questions ask whether you live in Japan or not. The studio would have region-locked the survey to Japan otherwise as well.
You can access the survey here. I translated the most interesting questions below.
Atlus Survey – Questions on Gaming Habits
Note that whether you see certain questions or not in the survey depends on your previous answers.
The first questions of the survey focuses on personal information, which consoles you own, which games you recently played, and which games you’re hyped for. Atlus included many different games to pick from, including Cyberpunk 2077, Ghost of Tsushima, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Yakuza: Like A Dragon, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Animal Crossing, Ring Fit Adventure, Sakuna, or Rune Factory 5 (which just got a stream with new details). Atlus’ own upcoming games such as Shin Megami Tensei V are also included.
Starting question 29, the Atlus survey asks different questions regarding your life habits, and how the Coronavirus changed said habits since February 2020.
Question 38 focuses on mobile games and if you play them.
Unsurprisingly seeing the huge popularity of virtual YouTubers, question 42 asks you which VTuber you’ve been into, and whether you regularly watch VTuber streams or not.
Questions 48 to 51 asks which games you’ve played from the Persona series and the Megami Tensei series respectively. Question 50 asks in particular which game co-developed between Atlus and Vanillaware have you played. Moreover, question 51 asks for your impressions on each of the games you’ve selected.
Question 52 asks what makes a game “Atlus like”. Answers include, the music, the way stories are written, the occult and demonic themes, the characters’ designs, etc.
Atlus Survey – Ports and Remakes Related Questions
Most of the final questions of the survey, starting question 53, asks which sequels, remakes of Atlus’ games you’d like to play, and on which consoles.
Question 53 is one of the most important questions. It asks for the console where you would you like to play the sequel of several series. Depending on your previous choices, you’ll be able to pick Megaten, Persona, Etrian Odyssey. Between PS4, PS VR, PS5, Switch, Smartphone, Xbox, Steam, or other.
Questions 55 and 56 asks what kind of new spinoff games for Persona and Megaten you’d like to see. Including board games, card games, rhythm games, fighting games, adventure games, action games, etc.
Question 54 asks whether you played collaboration events of Atlus games in other companies’ games.
Questions 57 and 58 asks which Atlus game you’d like a remake of, and what do you expect from a remake: whether it’s better graphics, additional story elements, being playable on the latest generation of consoles, etc.
Question 59 asks which consoles you’d like ports for existing Atlus games. This is where you can ask for Persona 5 Royal and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim on Switch.
Atlus Survey – Final Questions
Questions 60 and 61 asks whether you’d like to see more online concerts. And how much you’d be willing to pay for them.
Lastly, question 62 ask who’s the first character that comes to mind when you think of Atlus. Question 63 lets you freely share additional thoughts.
