With its release last year, Blue Manchu’s sci-fi “FPS strategy game” Void Bastards made a splashy debut with its comic-inspired art style and progressively challenging gameplay. While the game originally debuted on Xbox One and PC last year, PS4 and Switch owners will soon get a chance to try and escape the clutches of outer space next month.
Publisher Humble Bundle has announced that Void Bastards will officially be heading to PS4 and Nintendo Switch on May 7, 2020. Previously it was hinted at that the game would be making its way to Switch after an ESRB rating listing appeared, with Humble now confirming that it will be heading to both platforms in the very near future.

For those unfamiliar with the game, Void Bastards has players taking on the roles of prisoners attempting to escape from a stranded space vessel, the Sargasso Nebula. The game was originally announced in late 2018 and features heavy inspiration from immersive sim titles such as BioShock and System Shock 2, having been made by former Looking Glass Studios and Irrational Games alum Jonathan Chey.
Notably, the game features many elements of “roguelike” games, as players progress through challenging environments and take on the role of a new prisoner if their previous character dies and carrying over some skills and abilities to progress. However, developer Blue Manchu said that they consider Void Bastards to have features that make it distinct from what players might typically think of a roguelike game.
Void Bastards is available now on Xbox One and PC, with the game to arrive for PS4 and Nintendo Switch on May 7.
