In the latest community update for Star Wars Battlefront II DICE delves into General Grievous’ abilities as well as changes made to Hero Star Cards in the same update.

General Grievous was added to Star Wars Battlefront II today in an update that was announced last Wednesday. Grievous was developed as an imposing foe, standing over others on the field and wielding four lightsabers. While they imitate the appearance and move-set of his Episode III interpretation, it appears they wanted to bring back the fear he created in the animated Clone Wars series.

Thrust Surge is a rush attack in which Grievous moves forward quickly stabbing with all of his lightsabers and throwing his target to the ground. Claw Rush morphs him into an unsettling six-footed mode where he can move quickly to escape, damaging those who get in his way. His most iconic move is the Unrelenting Advance, in which he has two lightsabers spin in front of him blocking all damage from the front and dealing damage to anyone who gets in the way.

General Grievous will have his standard appearance alongside a Battle Damaged one, and an additional appearance that will be introduced on November 28 with the Battle of Geonosis Update that also introduces Obi-Wan Kenobi and the planet of Geonosis to Galactic Assault.

Some upgraded Hero Star Cards will be replacing the lesser used ones and have been broken down into two categories: Health on Defeat (in which the player defeating an enemy gains health, very similar to Battlefront II from the PS2 generation worked) and Defeat with Ability (in which health is only gained when a specific ability is used to defeat an enemy). Health on Defeat heroes include: Boba Fett, Han Solo, Lando Calrissian, Kylo Ren and Darth Maul. Meanwhile the Death with Ability heroes are: Chewbacca, Yoda, Finn and Captain Phasma. A full list of the Star Cards can be found on the Battlefront forums with a detailed breakdown of what cards are being dumped and what specific cards are being introduced. For those who own the cards being eliminated they will automatically be switched with the new versions.
