Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy takes the action rogue-like nature of the original and completely blows everything out from a content perspective. Developer Ludomotion’s first title took place entirely in a dungeon. However, with Unexplored 2 they’re giving players an entire continent to explore. Give the trailer a watch below.
Unexplored 2 is a hardcore action-RPG roguelike at its core. The sequel to the critically acclaimed Unexplored really ups the ante on its predecessor. It ditches the dreary cave confines of the original and gives you a vibrant world full of monsters to fight and curious locations to explore.
Ludomotion says that each choice you make can have big consequences on your next playthrough. When you die, you can restart as a new character in that world. Your legacy built up from past heroes will impact the fortunes of those that follow. If you’d like, you can also completely start over in a brand-new, procedurally-generated world.
The game is using an open-ended Fig campaign to drive fan feedback. The devs say that financial success on Fig will not have an impact on whether the game is finished or not. Unexplored 2 will be made regardless of Fig numbers. Instead, the primary reason they’re using Fig is to give players a way to give them feedback during this early access period. As a member of the community, you will have the ability to help drive the direction of development.
Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy is coming to PC and consoles in 2020. As mentioned, you can hop in on Fig now and download an early pre-alpha build of the game. Keep your browser on Dualshockers for all the E3 news coming out this week.
