Another month has rolled around so another batch of free PS Plus games has been revealed by Sony on PlayStation Blog. Still, as the first month of a new decade, one would hope January 2020’s PS Plus lineup would be good. Fortunately, it is as subscribers will gain access to Bluepoint Games’ Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Coffee Stain Studios’ Goat Simulator on January 7.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is a great addition to PS Plus as it actually adds three great remastered games to the service. One can play touched up versions of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception via The Nathan Drake Collection, so it’s a great way to catch up on the series for those that only ever played Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End or Uncharted: Lost Legacy on PS4. For diehard fans of the series, replaying the original trilogy while we wait for the film adaptation to get a new director can also be fun.
As for Goat Simulator, it is a purposely bad game that spawned a lot of funny videos and memes upon its release in 2014. It came to PS4 in 2015, and its inclusion on PS Plus also players who missed the funny game back then the chance to experience it for the first time. Even if this is not PS Plus’ most bombastic month in recent memory, I’d still say this is a pretty good lineup of games.
For those of you who own other platforms, you can check out the latest retro titles to be added to Nintendo Switch Online, January’s Games With Gold on Xbox One and Stadia Pro’s additions this month. A year of PS Plus can also be picked up on Amazon.
