Torchlight 3 will continue the saga of the acclaimed action role-playing dungeon crawler series. This week Perfect World Entertainment and Echtra Games unveiled the Sharpshooter hero class with an action-packed trailer that shows off the Sharpshooter’s precision skills with ranged weapons and magical trinkets. The Sharpshooter hero is armed with a signature bow, which allows them to take out enemies from afar. As you level up the Sharpshooter’s skills, you can deploy a chain of dirty tricks and regenerate ammo. The Sharpshooter joins Torchlight 3’s previously announced hero classes, Dusk Mage, Forged, and Railmaster.
Torchlight 3 was earlier announced as the free to play Torchlight Frontiers, which was to be a shared, persistent, and dynamically generated world set in the Torchlight universe. Recently the game was delayed and direction was shifted away from its MMO and free to play origins in favor of a more traditional linear sequel. The premium game will now be playable online or off.
The game will also bring back pets. Choose from the likes of an alpaca, owl, or a dog to accompany you on your journey. The pets of Torchlight 3 will also be getting an upgrade and will now feature the ability to add skills and the ability to equip them with gear of their own. Together with your faithful pet you will explore the frontier whilst gathering materials to craft loot and seek out magical maps to enter unknown dungeons. Torchlight 3 also features account-based forts where you can upgrade gear, build monuments of power, pet stables, and other fun stuff.
Currently, you can find Torchlight 3 in a closed alpha testing phase on Steam here. The full game will debut later this year, first on PC via Steam, with console versions to follow shortly after. Check out the trailer below to see the Sharpshooter in action.
