If you’ve been following the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community, you’ll have no doubt seen people, very early on, discovering they can sit on a toilet and defecate away. I mean, we reported on the community discovering this unexplained feature.
Well, the thing is, it was unexplained. Until today when the official Tom Nook UK account for all things Animal Crossing: New Horizons showed a video of the process in action. Informing a larger number of players that they can now, in fact, sit on a toilet in-game and plop the unwanted fruit away.

The funny thing is, this feature isn’t just for fun, it’s actually a helpful feature for those who live a busy digital life, changing their island up. Basically, eating fruit will allow you to build the strength to dig entire trees out of the ground, or smash rocks to smithereens. However, if you forget you have fruit still inside of you, you can wind up accidentally digging a tree up, or destroying that one rock you haven’t depleted yet.
That’s where the toilet comes in. The best part is, the video shows the player washing their hands after. I can’t tell you how glad I am to see that after visiting numerous homes in the game that don’t even have a sink. Disgusting. I can’t wait for everyone to start stockpiling on toilets and overusing them after learning this. Thanks, Nook.
