The Witcher’s Henry Cavill Reacts to a Spider Situation in True Geralt Style

Times haven’t been easy on the set of Netflix’s The Witcher. Last month, we saw production coming to a halt again after the second round of confirmed positive results for COVID-19 at the Arborfield Studios, England where it’s being filmed. Thankfully, the wheels got back in motion again as production resumed a few weeks ago where the team has been witnessed building up a huge Witcher-style town from the ground up. This means that, thankfully, Geralt of Rivia is back into the full swing of killing monsters for our entertainment but as the following Instagram post proves, the actor who plays Geralt, Henry Cavill, takes his role very seriously even outside of work if you throw him some coin.

Boss Logic, who is a renowned artist from Australia, recently posted a picture of a giant spider on his Instagram. While many would recoil in horror at the thought of having to witness this thing perched on the wall inside their actual home, Henry Cavill saw it as a challenge. Bringing his Geralt of Rivia character into the real world, Cavill commented under Logic’s post in the most Witcher way you could ever think of with the simple words “Toss me a coin”. We have seen the man himself tackle some of the worst beasts and monsters in his role as The Witcher that includes the Kikimora and a Striga, but wanting to take on a Huntsman Spider is maybe his biggest flex yet.

In fairness to the spider, apparently, it looks much worse than it actually is with many Australians saying that they usually don’t mind these creatures living inside their home due to helping to keep pests at bay and are usually non-aggressive but even though I don’t have a fear of spiders, finding this thing staring at me from the wall would be enough for me to just set my whole house on fire and walk away. Thankfully though, I shouldn’t need to do that by the looks of it if I had Henry Cavill around.

In some other Witcher-related news, fans of Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will be pleased to know that CD Projekt Red is adding a new expansion, Way of the Witcher, early next month. As a player myself of this game, I’m excited for new cards to earn and a brand new journey to work through. While only have a few cards have been revealed so far, it looks like fans are going to have plenty of content to take them into the new year.

Going back to Netflix’s The Witcher, we recently spotted Sorceress Tissaia de Vries played by MyAnna Buring, Stregobor by actor Lars Mikkelsen, Therica Wilson-Read, Sorceress Sabrina, and Vilgefortz, mage and member of the Chapter of Sorcerers played by Mahesh Jadu walking alongside Anya Chalotra who plays Yennefer in some new images taken between scenes. An unfamiliar and yet unidentified face also has been seen with Therica Wilson-Read which could hint at a brand new mage joining the team. What is interesting though is that we also notice a bushy-bearded Cahir (Cahir Mawr Dyffryn aep Ceallach) played by Eamon Farren who looks to be bare-chested under his shirt which could mean that he may have become imprisoned in the aftermath of the Battle of Sodden. This is in stark contrast to a recent picture of him in a new black and golden Nilfgaardian armor.

The Witcher is available to stream on Netflix now and if you wish, be sure to check out our own review for the Netflix series here as you wait until next year sometime to get a look at season two. If gaming is more your style, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition will be heading to next-generation platforms and this time, the game will look as pretty as ever.
