As one of the most highly-anticipated games on the horizon, The Last of Us Part II has already been a big source of inspiration when it comes to beautiful, hand-made works. While many of these have been fan-made, such as this illustration by Disney artist Ami Thompson, developer Naughty Dog is partnering up with Cook & Becker to deliver a series of stunning artwork worthy of hanging up at home.
Naughty Dog has announced that it is debuting a series of concept art pieces from the development of The Last of Us Part II, which will be offered as prints through art dealer Cook & Becker.
Over on the official website for the collection, four pieces of concept art by John Sweeney are being offered by Naughty Dog and Cook & Becker as high-quality, limited edition prints, with each showcasing various scenes and inspirations for the upcoming and highly-anticipated sequel. You can read a full description for the prints below from Cook & Becker:
The official The Last of Us Part II Fine Art Collection consist of museum-grade giclee prints based on original concept art created during the development of The Last of Us Part II video game. The artworks have been made by the art team at Naughty Dog and have been meticulously proofed and printed to be as close to the artists’ intention as possible. All art prints in this collection are hand-numbered and all but one are signed with an officially authorized autopen signature from the artist both on the front of the print and on the certificate of authenticity.
The prints range in price from $95-$410, and are available in either framed or unframed, gallery-quality giclee prints. However, given these are limited edition prints, if you have any interest in grabbing one of these art prints for yourself (or a loved one), especially for the holidays, you might want to act fast and grab one as soon as you can before they sell out.
In terms of other related news to The Last of Us Part II, back in September Naughty Dog had confirmed that the long-awaited sequel would finally be coming to PS4 in February 2020. However, just a few weeks later the studio had ended up announcing that the game would be delayed a few months further to May 2020, to give them ample time to polish the game prior to launch next year.
Given that early 2020 is already going to be packed with major releases like Cyberpunk 2077, DOOM Eternal, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and more, personally I think Naughty Dog should get all the time that they need to deliver a sequel that’s worthy of the original.
The Last of Us Part II will release exclusively for PS4 on May 29, 2020, and you can pre-order the game right now over on Amazon. For a closer look at the beautiful art prints from Cook & Becker, you can check out the images below:
