This week, developer Bethesda Softworks announced the PC and Mac release of the new expansion of The Elder Scrolls Online.  The new Summerset DLC will take place in the Summerset Isles, the ancestral home of the Altmer, Tamriel’s high elves. This expansion will include new content and wrap a narrative that started with the Orsinium DLC expansion.

If you have been holding off on playing The Elder Scrolls Online, now is the time to try it out. Steam announced on Twitter that the base game will be available as apart of its free-to-play weekend until March 28th. In addition, the base game is also currently available to download for free on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 until March 28th as well.

Just make sure you give it plenty of time to download.  The Elder Scrolls Online base game is huge in itself even without a DLC.  To give you an idea, the PlayStation 4 version took me about seven hours to download.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset is currently available on PC and Mac and will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 5th.  You can view a gameplay trailer and a gallery of screenshots of the new DLC here.
