The Elder Scrolls: Blades is Now Free to Download for All in Early Access

After going through a closed beta period and a phase where only those with Bethesda.net accounts could play, the mobile title The Elder Scrolls: Blades is now free to download and play for all.

Bethesda announced just recently that anyone and everyone can now download and play The Elder Scrolls: Blades on either iOS or Android devices. While the game is now readily available for all though, the finalized version of the game still has yet to release. Technically, The Elder Scrolls: Blades is still in early access, which is the phase of the game that Bethesda previously stated it would enter after the beta period a few months back.

Alongside this announcement, Bethesda also released a new trailer for The Elder Scrolls: Blades which shows off the game’s impressively gorgeous world, combat, and other aspects. While what’s on display here seems to be of a high quality for a mobile title, Blades has been met with some early criticism from some fans. As of this writing, the new trailer on YouTube has more dislikes than likes and many in the comments are complaining about the game’s implementation of loot boxes and gatekeeping via timers.

I haven’t tried Blades out for myself yet (other than in a brief demo last year at E3) but I’m interested in seeing what all of the commotion is about. While writing this, I actually just downloaded the title to my own iPhone and I’ll probably give it a go next time I use the bathroom, or something. Depending on how much time I put into it, maybe I’ll write up some thoughts here soon.

So what do you think of The Elder Scrolls: Blades? Have you given it a shot yet? Let me know down in the comments.
