As you may have recently seen, The Division 2 and Resident Evil crossover event was announced with lots of goodies for players to get stuck into. Some of these treats included fancy skins, cosmetic items, and a stack of special weapons. The crossover has Racoon City sending “their best and brightest to answer the call in D.C. and New York City”, with crossover apparel launching alongside a newly revamped reanimated crossover event that goes live today.
To run alongside the Resident Evil crossover event, The Division 2 next-gen update is out now with patch 12.1. This brand new update introduces the big next-gen upgrades for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S with the patch including 4K visuals and 60 frames per second support for all three platforms. The crossover also introduces STARS-themed outfits for player characters in Ubisoft’s game that are earned through apparel keys. Make sure to check out the trailer below.
You’ll be able to collect seven back trophies and four new patches throughout the crossover event, but don’t worry as you’ll have plenty of time from today to participate in all of this as it doesn’t end until February 15. There are also Optimization Station changes that have come into play, too. Optimization costs have been reduced by 75% and optimization material crafting recipes by 50%. Ubisoft implemented these changes so that players are able to “afford to optimize their weapons and gear about once an hour”.
In the Resident Evil Showcase, we got to see extended gameplay footage that showcased the game’s combat system, crafting and inventory management, and some new features like a merchant. During Capcom’s showcase, we also got the release date for Resident Evil Village and different editions of the game that will be available at launch.
Resident Evil Village will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
