After releasing Man of Medan as the first episode of The Dark Pictures anthology, Supermassive Games has put the emphasis on the next episode entitled Little Hope. While there is not much information about the game yet, except for an announcement teaser trailer, a German retailer has listed The Dark Pictures: Little Hope for a June 2020 release, revealing more details about its story and setting.
Discovered by a Reddit user, the German retailer, Saturn, claims that The Dark Pictures: Little Hope will be available on June 15th this year for €29.99. Along with that, the retailer has also leaked the box art for the game, while providing a summary of the scary events waiting for us in this new adventure by developers of Until Dawn.
According to the English translation of the page, the new episode follows the story of four college students and their teacher trapped in a haunting village called Little Hope. Similar to Man of Medan, your only mission is to help as many members of your team as you can to survive the scary visions and nightmarish creatures stalking you in the village. Shared Story mode will be available once again, allowing you to play Little Hope in online co-op mode while collaborating with your friend to survive before losing your soul. Moreover, the five-player local co-op mode “Movie Night” will be back as well, which can be played with only one controller.
The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan launched later in Summer last year, receiving mediocre reviews compared to Supermassive’s previous title Until Dawn. The game was rated 6 out of 10 in our review mostly because of its performance issues, which could be hopefully corrected in the upcoming The Dark Pictures: Little Hope. The new horror experience from Supermassive Games will be heading to PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
While Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco haven’t reacted to the leak yet, if it turns out to be true, there would likely be a new trailer of the game to announce the release date officially.
