We saw the teaser earlier this week, but today Ubisoft has revealed more details behind The Crew 2’s second major update that will be available for free.
Sticking to their promise of introducing new major updates every three months, Ubisoft will be introducing Demolition Derby to the title, adding another discipline to master. Players will compete against one another in an attempt to get the highest score in a limited amount of time. They’ll do this by smashing up opponents vehicles and avoiding obstacles around two new arenas that contain the driving.
The two arenas arriving to The Crew 2 are the Bonneville Salt Flat which has obstacles such as an elevator, and a spring-loaded boxing glove. The other is a circuit found at Tucson aircraft cemetery, allowing players to shove other racers off the tracks. Also arriving to The Crew 2 are four brand new demolition derby cars for the first time, allowing players to use them either inside races or during free drive. As I anticipated when the teaser landed, these cars will be completely destructible.
Additionally, the update will introduce PvP mode which starts at Rookie level and allows up to eight players to compete against one another in various disciplines. Players are able to also enter in-game PvP leagues for higher stakes and rewards. There are also more contests, including exclusive Drift, Alpha Grand Prix, and Rally Cross challenges. Additional skills and in-game activities are also arriving through the Demolition Derby update.
This month also saw The Crew 2 recieve two new vehicles as part of their monthly vehicle drop plan. These were the Audi RS3 LMS – 2017 and the Aeroboat – VS12 – 2018. The free Demolition Derby update will be arriving on December 5 for all platforms.
The Crew 2 is available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
