Celeste was one of the best games last year. The title blended superb platforming and meaningful storytelling in a way that was both unexpected and memorable. Now, just about a year after the original release date, the creator over at Matt Makes Games shared details on the upcoming DLC.
In a Tweet from Matt Thorson, he expanded on what would be included in the DLC chapter. First, he made it clear that it won’t be ready for the anniversary of the game on January 25th. He then stated that the DLC will be one continuous chapter with no B-side levels. Also, it will take place after the current hardest levels in difficulty. There will be no strawberries. There will be some new item/mechanics. Finally, the new DLC will be free across all platforms.
I can’t wait to get into this new DLC. After loving my experience with the game the first time around, I went back to try to 100% the game. However, I think my Switch pro controller was happy that I finally gave up. So, I am looking forward to another reason to pop back into one of my favorite games of last year and of this generation.
If you have still not played this game, that needs to change as soon as possible! Celeste is currently free on Xbox One through Games with Gold. Pick it up if you can.
Celeste is currently available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. The new DLC will miss the games one year anniversary and still doesn’t have an official release date.
