Techland is using the upcoming release of Red Dead Redemption 2 to tease something related to Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. This came in the form of a new video released on the company’s official Facebook and YouTube accounts where Gunslinger protagonist Silas Graves leaves a message for Arthur Morgan, Red Dead Redemption 2’s main character.
Specifically, he talks about how “the old west is full of legends,” and how these legends never really die, and can come back “stronger than ever.” While the message is aimed at Red Dead Redemption 2’s main character, it’s clearly referring to the state of the Call of Juarez series as a whole, and how Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is about to make a comeback.
Eurogamer reached out to Techland for a comment, and they definetly played coy, reaffirming Silas Graves’ “Legends never die,” comment:
“The Call of Juarez series means a lot to us and we’re not ruling anything out for the future. Legends never die, after all.”
While nothing is confirmed at this time, the game is only available on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, so a current-gen re-release or remaster definitely isn’t out of the question. If you can recall, Techland reacquired the rights for the Call of Juarez series from Ubisoft back in April. Back then they pledged to continue supporting the western series in a “dutiful and passionate way,” and we are clearly seeing the first results of that.
DualShockers will be sure to let you know when Techland officially unveils what exactly is coming next for Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. In the meantime, you can pick up the game on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
