It’s been the better part of ten years since we were first introduced to the misadventures of a loving couple known as Meat Boy and Bandage Girl as they fought for survival and continuously rescued one another from the clutches of the devious Dr. Fetus. This utterly bizarre situation was the set up for the now classic indie title Super Meat Boy.
Originally released back in 2010, Super Meat Boy is a fast-paced 2D platformer that is famed for its brutal difficulty and dastardly level design. The creation of the game was also a major focal point in the behind-the-scenes documentary Indie Game: The Movie.
The ruthless platformer is now seeing a new lease on life thanks to a collaboration between development crew Team Meat and Epic Games which sees the title making its way to the Epic Games Store for free.
Those with an Epic Games account can currently relive Super Meat Boy or experience its cheeky attitude for the first time without paying a cent. This limited time offer allows players who download the game before January 10, 2019, to keep it forever.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Team Meat and Epic games going hand in hand. It was also announced earlier this month that the studio’s long-awaited sequel, Super Meat Boy Forever, will be available on Epic Games Store for a full year before it hits Steam.
Epic Games has partnered with Team Meat to offer @SuperMeatBoy for free on PC inside the Epic Games store. You can login and download it right now! https://t.co/eIsVpzK8CQ pic.twitter.com/I2pZ9IFxD6
