Independent Russian developer Studio MONO revealed on Twitter this week that their Steam page for their game INSOMNIA: The Ark is now available for players to check out. They also announced their partnership with HeroCraft, who has published games such as Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf. To celebrate, a teaser trailer was released for the story-driven roleplay game.
INSOMNIA: The Ark will find players awakened with a rare psychological disease on Object 6, a retro-futuristic space station. They will have to uncover the truth about humanity’s 400 year journey to find a new home. Players will be able to craft equipment, interact with factions and NPCs, and try to stay alive in a colossal space metropolis.
The trailer reveals a bleak urban dystopia that in some cases looks very much like the rundown city of Rapture in the Bioshock series. It also shows the close and ranged combat players will engage in and a society that is definitely in a state of unrest.
A Kickstarter campaign for INSOMNIA: The Ark began several years ago. The campaign says that the game will be available for PC, Mac, and Linux, but the Steam page only shares system requirements for PC at the moment. The game will be released sometime later this year. You can check out the trailer below.
