Dangeki Online launched the first gameplay trailer for 5pb’s upcoming game, Steins;Gate Elite, coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Switch in spring 2018 in Japan.
The trailer shows the first gameplay from the developers “full animation adventure” where instead of static images, the player will play through the game is if they were watching the anime, something totally new for the series and from the developer.
Steins;Gate Elite will follow all 24 episodes of the original anime and will contain branching paths that players will decide on that weren’t in the anime. Sound cool? Well it is, because the anime studio Whitefox has also been revealed to be working on the scenes. The game is technically a remake of the original Steins;Gate that will follow closely with the anime series.
Watching the gameplay, I’m rather impressed with how they fused scenes of the anime into the game as if you were just watching it. Although I’m curious to see how the developer handles the alternate paths and character growth from scenes that weren’t aired.
There is currently no western release announced at this time.
