In what creator ConceredApe is calling the biggest update to Stardew Valley yet, players will have tons of new content to dig into. Update 1.5 is out today on PC with consoles to follow. It’s a doozy. I won’t spoil everything coming (mostly because I don’t want to look at it for my own sake), but it looks like there will be tons to do when you boot up a new farm. Give the announcement a look below.

Personally, the most exciting addition with 1.5 is that we now have split-screen co-op. This is likely less thrilling news for PC players, but this is a dream come true for the console version of the game. Being able to hop on with my wife and play on the same console is huge. I expect the same is true for many other couples and families looking for something to play together during the pandemic.
Of course, that’s far from the only addition though. You also have several new options for creating new farms. Most notably, there’s the new “beach farm” option. It has tons of places to fish but takes away your ability to use sprinklers, making it a much tougher test of your farming skills. Additionally, there are quite a few new advanced game options that let you better customize your farm’s layout.
There’s plenty more, but I won’t spoil anything else for you. If you absolutely have to know, give the full changelog a look.
Stardew Valley is available now on Nintendo Switch, Mobile, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
