PlayStation icon Spyro the Dragon came back in the public eye through the Spyro Reignited Trilogy remake, but while PS4 and Xbox One owners were able to revisit the fun of those classic titles, Switch and PC users were a little less lucky. The trilogy is thought to be coming out on Switch, per a GameStop listing—likewise, Taiwan’s video game rating board appears to indicate that it will also come to PC.
The listing, which appears to have been removed at this point, included a box art picture (per Gematsu), which revealed that Iron Galaxy Studios, who also ported the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy to PC is behind the port. The Crash remakes released as a timed exclusive for the PS4, before coming out on Xbox One, Switch, and PC simultaneously approximately one year later. While I can’t imagine that players who prefer PC over console were fervent for a port of Spyro Reignited Trilogy, given the lack of significant history between the franchise and the PC platform, such a release would cover all the bases, as Crash Bandicoot did.

Other than the Spyro and Crash original trilogies, publisher Activision is also bringing a remake of Crash Team Racing, titled Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, to Switch, PS4, and Xbox One simultaneously. There hasn’t been a PC release announced for that title yet, but perhaps Iron Galaxy can pick that up after they fulfill their dreams of making a Space Jam 2 game.
Whenever this port releases for the PC, you can bet that this version will have subtitle support out of the gate, considering the feature was patched into the console version of the game. A bit later than we would have liked, but hopefully everyone has learned their lesson. As we wait for further news on PC and Switch versions of the Snoop Dogg-approved Spyro Reignited Trilogy, check back to our review of the original release.
