Today during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Activision brought some great news for fans of the upcoming Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
The games’ original composer Stewart Copeland will return with a new main theme track titled “Tiger Train.” You can listen to a sample in the clip at the bottom of the post.
This is not all, as the game will also get a new feature that lets you seamlessly switch between the original soundtrack and the remastered version. You can see how that works in the first video below alongside a few screenshots.
Copeland accompanied the press release with a comment:
“Creating new music for the Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been incredibly fun and nostalgic for me. Seeing how the fans loved the original series and soundtrack was a very heart-warming experience 20 years ago, and being able to revisit that fun with the new game has brought things full circle. I can’t wait for players to hear the new intro title track and enjoy the option to play the remastered game to my original music when the trilogy arrives this fall. ‘Tiger Train’ includes some of my favorite themes from the original soundtrack, which I’m sure the Spyro faithful will appreciate!”
Spyro Reignited Trilogy will release for PS4 and Xbox One on September 21st, 2018. If you want to see more, you can check out some really spiffy gameplay showcased earlier this month.
If you’re interested in reserving a copy before the trilogy launches, you can already do so on Amazon.
