Spyro turns twenty today, and boy do I feel old. I remember way back when I used to help save all the dragonflies scattered all across the Dragon Realm in Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly on our purple Gamecube. Good times.
On Twitter, a brief video was posted to celebrate the anniversary of everyone’s favorite purple dragon.
Happy Anniversary to everyone’s favorite purple dragon. Thanks for being the best fans for the past 20 years! #spyro20th pic.twitter.com/MV7oErKU1E

Toys for Bob also joined in by sharing a birthday gif, and fans were encouraged to share their own fan art of Spyro by using the hashtag #Spyro20th on Twitter.

Spyro Year of the Dragon was my first game I played on my brand new PlayStation. I still remember coming home after school and would immediately jump on to find more eggs in new worlds. I can’t wait to explore the forgotten worlds once again 💜 #Spyro20th pic.twitter.com/ptvQ88segn

I’ve been playing Spyro since I was a child.
Almost everything I’ve drawn when I was a child was Spyro related, with all these fancharacters I made at the time…
Well, Naturally I’ve grown up, my art now is much better and gess what? SPYRO IS NOW MUCH BETTER TOO!#Spyro20th pic.twitter.com/NU7KpwHVn1— Helen Dafne ART (@HelenDafne_ART) September 5, 2018

If you’d like to reserve a copy of the game, you can pre-order it on Amazon. In order to tide you over until November, you can check out this video of almost twenty minutes of gameplay from all three games.
