After several installments of espionage expert Sam Fisher going on increasingly more dangerous missions during the Xbox era, 2010’s Splinter Cell: Conviction brought things back to basics with Sam on a search for answers about the death of his daughter, and now you can experience (or re-experience) the tense action game on Xbox One later today.

Ubisoft announced today that Splinter Cell: Conviction will be available on Xbox One’s backwards compatibility library, with the game being added later today for those that have either a physical copy of the game, or have purchased the game digitally on Xbox 360. Interestingly enough, the game also happens to be 50% off in this week’s Deals With Gold offers, making for a great chance to pick up the game while it is on sale.

Personally, I’m stoked that Conviction will be available for Xbox One owners to play, whether they are experiencing it for the first time or playing it again after nearly eight years since its release. Conviction was the game that really got me invested in the series, and still remains one of my personal favorites.

Splinter Cell: Conviction originally released for Xbox 360 and PC in April 2010, with later versions of the game on Mac and mobile.
