The introduction of SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy at the latest Nintendo Direct Mini raised eyebrows due to the fact that the trailer presented in North America and Europe was completely different from the one showcased in Japan, removing the reference to the heroines being “sexy and cute,” and putting them into a lot less revealing clothes.
We reached out to NIS America (that will publish the game in the west) for a clarification, asking whether there will be cuts or changes in costumes for the western version, or for the Nintendo Switch port of the game, and a rep reassured us by mentioning that all sides will be the same, and it’ll be the same game everywhere.
We also inquired about who took the decision of presenting such a different trailer for the western audience, and we were simply told that “each division has the agency to make adjustments that best fit their respective markets.”
So there you have it. It’s just a difference in marketing, and we’ll be able to dress our heroines however we feel like.
SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy will be released for Nintendo Switch and PS4 in summer 2018. At the moment, there is no firm release date for any platform or region.
