While PC players have been able to enjoy the fourth character class in Slay the Spire for a few months now, console players have been patiently waiting for the patch to drop on their platform. The developers at MegaCrit have finished up their work, pushing the patch out on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One today. Alongside the new character are a few new additions that should keep fans happy for quite a while.

Like the other three characters, the Watcher comes with her own deck of cards and a few unique relics. She is a monk who can switch to different stances to take advantage of her enemies. From what I’ve seen in the PC community, she sounds like a character with a steep learning curve who becomes incredibly rewarding once you’ve mastered playing with her. Just like all other classes, she has a number of unlocks that open up new possibilities as you play.
Alongside the Watcher, MegaCrit added several new potions in the latest update. Because there are no so many in the game, they’ve also added in the Potion Lab in your Compendium. Here, you can check them all out to better prepare yourself. As the old saying goes, a prepared Watcher is a successful Watcher!
Slay the Spire is available now on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Watcher update is live on PC and consoles. Hopefully, for mobile players, the update is just around the corner for them as well. As an avid board game fan, it’s great to see the deck-building genre having such a moment in video gaming. Slay the Spire is, without a doubt, one of the best versions in the digital world. However, there are several other great games in the genre across various platforms.
