Earlier this month, Shovel Knight developer Yacht Club Games teased that it would be revealing a new game it’s publishing at PAX East. Today, we learned that the title in question is MekaSkull’s Cyber Shadow which will be releasing for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
For those of you who haven’t heard of this game before, Cyber Shadow is an action platformer where players control a ninja named Shadow who is on a journey in the ruins of Mekacity. The game will embrace its 8-bit roots in both visual style and difficulty, though the modern technology is being used to help the visuals pop a bit more.
According to Yacht Club Games, the lauded indie studio approached Aarne “MekaSkull” Hunziker about publishing Cyber Shadow about two years ago. Aarne agreed, so Yacht Club Games came on to handle things like porting, marketing, and design feedback while the main game is being worked on. Cyber Shadow will be available to play at PAX East alongside Shovel Knight Showdown and King of Cards.
