Today, during a conference at Magic Monaco, Shenmue III creator Yu Suzuki showcased four new images of the game.
We get to see a variety of characters, and you can enjoy them at the bottom of the post (unfortunately just photographed from the screen), courtesy of Twitter user Shenmue Forever.
The character design and modeling certainly show great progress, as already indicated by a few screenshots we saw in January. This follows the announcement of the publishing partnership with Deep Silver, followed by an outsourcing deal with Indian Studio Lakshya Digital, that is working on the characters. It’s likely that more resources are being poured into game development, resulting in improvements across the board.
One thing is for sure, the outlook for the game has become more and more positive over the past few months, so I’m rather excited to see what will come don the line and if it’ll really be released this year.
Shenmue III has been recently delayed to the second half of 2018 to make it “bigger and more beautiful.” The game will release for PS4 and PC.
