Explore the beauty and serenity of Shape of the World‘s environment and ecosystem as Hollow Tree Games releases a gorgeous demo of the Kickstarter-funded game. The free 712MB download is available now for you to get a taste of the beautiful experience here.
From humble beginnings on Kickstarter to some of the gorgeous snippets and screenshots of the game you can check out below, Shape of the World has certainly evolved into something very special. The game promises:
Shape of the World is an exploration game where a rich and colorful world grows around you, a relaxing and interactive escape about getting yourself pleasantly lost. Your presence is the driving force behind the procedurally populated environment amble through a dream-like forest, aquatic caves and peaceful shores.
You may be hesitant to hear procedurally generated after certain debacles in the past few years with such environments, but so far, Shape of the World‘s beautiful and surreal landscape, vibrant colors, and ecosystem show a lot of promise.
I mean, just look at those screenshots.
It’s like a David Bowie album barfed on my face and yet somehow I’m into it.
Anyways, a couple of the game’s other really neat features include a dynamic soundtrack that reacts to player interaction and a highly diverse ecosystem, including fireflies, eel thingies, and the ever-popular flying whale. It boasts some gorgeous, stylized visuals and is definitely something to keep your eye on as we approach release.
Shape of the World is planned to launch on PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam on Tuesday, June 5 followed by the Switch and Xbox One on Wednesday, June 6.
