A data miner has uncovered a list of SNES games buried within the NES Online app just after last months update. However, it does just stop there. Someone else has uncovered additional emulators within the app as well.
Noted by Nintendo Life, another data miner (@OatmealDome) found four different emulator types within the NES Online app.
- Kachikachi (NES Classic)
- Canoe (SNES Classic)
- Hiyoko (???)
- Count (???)
It was also pointed out by @OatmealDome, that the NES Online app is essentially a port of the NES Classic emulator. So, could we be seeing a port of the SNES Classic emulator as well? The list of SNES games that were recently just uncovered would support this evidence.
There are two additional emulators found as well, which could indicate more emulators coming to the service or even more Classic Consoles. If that is true, I would guess that the next line of games would come from the Game Boy and Game Boy Advanced. However, It wouldn’t surprise me if one of them was the N64.
The addition of SNES games and two more additional systems would make the Nintendo Online Service an absolute must-have for all Switch owners. Having many of the greatest games of all time at your disposal wherever you are would be amazing. Hopefully Nintendo gives everyone what they want and makes the Netflix subscription style Virtual Console dream come true.
I was looking through the NES Switch app with @KapuccinoHeck and @Simon1844. I found four emulator types:
Kachikachi (NES Classic)
Canoe (SNES Classic)
Hiyoko (???)
Count (???)This could mean there will be two new Classic consoles and/or three new consoles for Switch Online.
