Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Nintendo Switch is one of the most anticipated titles of the year and, naturally, the fan-base likes to combine it with their favourite memes. That, somehow, includes people wanting to see McDonald’s mascot Ronald McDonald added to the game.
However, McDonald’s Canada have taken to their Twitter account in order to respond to made-up rumors of Ronald McDonald appearing in the next Smash Bros. title from Nintendo. In a twist that could put M. Night Shyamalan to shame, it turns out that the Hamburglar’s rival will not be making his Smash debut this year.
The account was asked by fans whether or not rumors about Ronald McDonald being in the game were true, and it responded in a McDonald’s fashion:
Hi Chris. Although seeing Ronald McDonald battle other characters in Smash Bros would be pretty neat, he will not be making an appearance in the new game as of right now.

“Hi Chris. Although seeing Ronald McDonald battle other characters in Smash Bros would be pretty neat, he will not be making an appearance in the new game as of right now[,]” the account humorously added. But without taking things at face value, let’s think about what they just said for a minute.
McDonald’s were careful to not silence rumors entirely, pointing out that the mascot would not be making an appearance in the game “right now.” Looks like anything is possible, and McDonald’s might be open to it. For now though, you can imagine what Ronald McDonald’s character intro would look like down below.
Maybe DLC? Please, Nintendo.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate joins the battle on Nintendo Switch come December 7. If you have yet to pick up a copy of the game, you can do that right now over on Amazon.
