Rocket League addictions are very hard to break. You can sit down at home and play a match in just a few minutes and the high learning curve keeps players coming back. But there are other things that entices players to keep driving their rocket-powered battle cars including the constant free updates to the game, and changes based on player feedback. Today, developer Psyonix announced details for the upcoming Autumn Update as well as two new features that will follow its release.
You can check out a trailer for the update below.
The Autumn Update will launch on September 28 and includes, among other things, a new limited time seasonal arena, customizable player banners, transparent goalposts, and more than 90 new free customization items.
In addition to these updates players will be happy to learn that arenas, such as Starbase Arc, are being standardized to allow for a more uniform competitive and casual experience. Also interesting will be the addition of an item called the “decryptor” which will allow players to open crates without purchasing a key.
The two major features that are slated to release after the Autumn Update include a new party system that PC players will be able to test in beta, and a new tournament system that will allow for private customizable tournaments between friends.
Rocket League is currently available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4, and will be coming to the Switch this holiday season. You can read more about the addition of transparent goalposts, a long-requested feature, here. You can also check out the rewards for competitive season 5 here.
