The disastrous storm, Hurricane Harvey, has caused a lot of turmoil for those living in Houston, Texas. As such, many organizations have reached out to the flooded residents to help them out in their time of need. One such group known as Minor League Doubles — a Rocket League community known for their charity work and friendly playing environment — announced their drive to aid the victims of the storm.
On Sunday, September 3 from 9pm to 12pm, Minor League Doubles will be conducting a charity drive for the American Red Cross Texas Disaster Relief Fund during their regularly broadcasted stream through their Twitch channel. Additionally, the community released a new shirt that will further their aid for those affected by the dreadful storm. The aforementioned apparel will be available this Tuesday through Tee Spring.
After Rocket League‘s season 4, all proceeds from Minor League Doubles’ merchandise will be distributed to various charities. Some organizations MLD has raised for in the past include Make a Wish Foundation, Extra Life, The Wound Warrior Project, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and more.
Rocket League is an unconventional sports game by Psyonix. To put it simply, it’s three-on-three soccer except the players are replaced with remote-controlled cars. Sounds silly, but it has become an incredibly popular title since its release in 2015. Just this past April, it was revealed that 30 million players have test driven the fast-paced sports title.
