Rocket Arena isn’t even two weeks old and already are physical copies of it being heavily discounted.
As spotted by Wario64 on Twitter, the disc version of the game’s “Mythic Edition” on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is now selling for $9.99 USD at Best Buy and Amazon, taking 75 percent off the $39.99 asking price it launched for on July 14.

The 3-v-3 hero shooter, which released under the EA Originals line as a debut project from Final Strike Games, was already facing a steep uphill battle. It was entering a sub-genre that, while not oversaturated, is dominated entirely by a short list of successes like Overwatch, Apex Legends, and Valorant. The game was also given little fanfare, having been announced through a brief showing during the EA Play digital showcase in June before launching less than a month later.
But Rocket Arena’s pricing model especially did the game zero favors. The base game cost $29.99 and is laden with microtransactions, with the aforementioned “Mythic Edition” having asked for $10 extra in exchange for some bonus cosmetics and enough in-game currency to pre-order its season 1 “Blast Pass.” And that’s all for a game that we found to be pretty forgettable.
The strategy is even more baffling when you consider that EA already has a highly successful hero shooter in Respawn’s Apex Legends, which is free-to-play.
As of late Friday afternoon, the digital versions of Rocket Arena are still at their original release prices ($30 for standard, $40 for Mythic) on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam’s storefronts.
