Actress and movie scriptwriter Jeanette Maus, who has voiced a number of characters in Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil Village, has tragically passed away. Maus is the voice of one of Lady Dimitrescu’s “daughters” that makes up the House of Dimitrescu. Maus, who is also an acting teacher and coach, appearing in Charm City Kings and Lynn Shelton’s Your Sister’s Sister, passed away last Sunday of colon cancer. She was only 39 years old.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Maus also had Crohn’s disease and unfortunately contracted COVID-19 as well in which a GoFundMe page had been set up for Maus to aid her with mounting medical bills. At the time, the actress was being treated at City of Hope in Los Angeles, and was “making great progress in eliminating the tumors.” She was undergoing a combination of chemotherapy and treatments using a machine called the Molecular Enhancer. The tragic news of Maus’s passing was confirmed on Facebook by her fiancé, Dusty Warren, in which he sadly wrote:
“It is with a shattered-yet grateful-heart that I inform you that Jeanette Maus passed away late last night due to complications of cancer,” Warren continued. “I’m really sad, but I’m super proud of her. She fought so hard, with tremendous grace and optimism, inspiring myself and I’m sure many of you.”
Capcom also took to social media yesterday to confirm the tragic news of Jeanette Maus saying that they were “deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Jeanette Maus, the talented actress who helped bring several different characters, including our witches to the world in Resident Evil Village. Our hearts go out to her family and loved ones.”
