Following the launch of Control earlier this year, it seems like Remedy could be starting to work on its next project soon.
Remedy creative director Sam Lake tweeted out a message this morning that stated he is currently working on a new story of some sort. “I’m in my brand new top secret writing lair. I [am writing] a new story,” he said in the tweet. “You have been warned.”

There are many potential ideas of what Lake could be working on here, but it’s obviously hard to know for certain what it could be. The director has previously expressed interest in one day returning to the world of Alan Wake and finally making a proper sequel after nearly a decade away from the franchise.
That said, what Lake could be writing here might not be related to gaming at all. Last year, it was confirmed that an Alan Wake would soon be adapted into a television series. Lake himself is serving as an executive producer on the series and will very much be hands-on with the project. Perhaps what he’s teasing here could be related to that forthcoming show.
Regardless of what Lake might be teasing here, I really am personally hoping it’s related to Alan Wake. We need a proper sequel to happen already and with Remedy now fully-owning the publishing rights to the IP, that reality seems to be closer than ever before to actually happen. Make it so, Sam.
