Phantasy Star Online 2 is one of Sega’s most popular and alive MMO titles in the world both in Japan and western countries. Despite the fact that it was launched almost nine years ago in Japan, the title made its way to the western countries in August 2020, which means a majority of the non-Japanese players of the game still have more to discover. Currently, the developers behind PSO 2 are hard at work to deliver the game’s massive New Genesis update later this year, which will bring some revolutionary changes to the game. PSO 2 Graphics Update is one of the early steps for transitioning into the New Genesis, and it’s currently available on the Japanese servers of the game. Here we will take a look at what the update offers.
What’s Included in PSO 2 Graphics Update?
As a pre-implemented specification of the New Genesis, the Graphics Update brings some significant changes to the character creation. You will find more detailed options in the menu and more precise editing tools. The random preset characters have also been improved significantly, so if you find it hard or time-consuming to create a character, just have a look at the random ones.
Aside from the new character creation options, the update also adds some new options to the graphics tab in the setting, allowing you to adjust the 3D rendering resolution and effect distortion. This will have some significant effect on how the world of the game and characters look.
When Does it Arrive?
The PSO 2 Graphics Update is now live on PC and PS4 on the Japanese servers, but there’s no release date for the worldwide version of the update yet. Probably the developers are waiting for feedback from the community around bugs and technical issues before launching the worldwide version of the update.
Phantasy Star Online 2 is only available on PC and Xbox One out of Japan.
