Three years after Project CARS 2, and five years after the series’ birth, now we are going to get Project CARS 3 in Summer this year, as Slightly Mad Studios officially revealed the game with an announcement trailer that looks exciting.

The trailer provides a quick and brief look at customizations and some of the different tracks while it actually follows an exciting race between a Mercedes AMG GT and an Acura NSX, which then gets interrupted by a Chevy Corvette. Project CARS 3 will be out in Summer 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. There is no word on a possible next-gen version of the game yet, but we will find out more about it as soon as the developers start giving more details on their upcoming project.

Slightly Mad Studios made a name for itself in making realistic and semi-realistic racing titles since the time they started working on Need For Speed Shift 1 and 2 for Electronic Arts. When things went south with EA on Shift 3, the team decided to cancel the project and started working on a new franchise, which was Project CARS. After developing the first two entries of the series independently, the studio was acquired by Codemasters last year.

Project CARS is an ultimate racing simulation featuring a lot of in-depth options in the technical customization of cars, which distinguishes the series from the other racing games available in the market. With the second entry, Slightly Mad Studios has made a lot of progress in bringing a more realistic experience, while widening the challenges of the game by adding different weather conditions.

It’s yet to be known what’s the main focus in Project CARS 3 and how the development team will inject new ideas to the game and upgrade the old key features, but we will get to know more about them soon.
