Destiny Chronicles is an upcoming action JRPG by Visualnoveler and wraithseeker that has drawn a good deal of its gameplay inspiration from Kingdom Hearts. Since the game’s initial reveal, it has been planned to release on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. However, recent news has indicated a change to that platform line-up.
wraithseeker announced today that the PlayStation Vita version of the game will no longer be in development due to apparent “optimization concerns” that warranted some reconsideration. Despite the developer’s desire to see Destiny Chronicles release on the Vita, it could not continue with that side of the project without risking a “suboptimal” experience.
However, it’s not all bad news! Instead of developing Destiny Chronicles for PlayStation Vita, the game will be brought to Nintendo Switch, a platform the developer sees as having current generation hardware that will provide for the appropriate experience that it hopes to deliver.
In addition to these revelations, wraithseeker recently took to Twitter to show off a little of the game’s pre-alpha footage. In the tweet below, we can see a little of Celeste in combat.

Also revealed was a new screenshot of Celeste. wraithseeker notes that the screenshot provided below takes place during Celeste’s knight initiation when it is suddenly ruined by Kylia, one of the game’s main antagonists.
