PlayStation Store’s Top Downloads for September Feature Destiny 2, FIFA 18, and NBA 2K18

Sony Interactive Entertainment have revealed the PlayStation Store’s top-downloaded games for the month of September (2017) for both North America and Europe.

As you may remember, last month the North American PS4 chart was topped by EA’s Madden NFL18, the latest installment in EA’s popular and annual football simulation series. However, this month Madden has slipped to the No.4 spot, with three new releases ahead of it. Coming in right ahead of it is another EA sports series, FIFA 18 (September 29), at No.3. Meanwhile, the No.2 spot was grabbed by 2K’s NBA 2K18 (September 19). And all the way at the top, is Bungie’s and Activision’s first-person shooter with MMO elements, Destiny 2 (September 6).

In addition to the above-mentioned three games, other debuts for the month on the PS4 chart, include: Final Fantasy IX at No.5, NHL 18 at No.6 (September 15), PES 2018 at No.14 (September 12), NBA Live 18 at No.16 (September 15), and Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite at No.19 (September 19). Notable new releases that failed to chart, include: Dishonored: Death of the Outsider (September 15), Project CARS 2 (September 22), and Knack II (September 5).

Elsewhere on the North American charts: SUPERHOT VR made it three months running at the top of the PS VR charts, while SPARC came in at No.2. As for the PS Vita chart, just like las month, it was once again Undertale at the top, while the PS classics chart was topped by Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.

Over in Europe, the PS4 chart was crowned by FIFA 18, which is no surprise given just how popular soccer is on the continent, aka much more popular than it is here in the states.

Right behind it is North America’s chart-topper, Destiny 2, followed by Star Wars Battlefront, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and Grand Theft Auto V, in that order.

Comparatively, Final Fantasy IX came in one spot lower in Europe, landing at No.6. Meanwhile, NBA 2K18 was also much lower at No.10 (basketball isn’t as big in Europe as it is in North America), as was PES 2018, which came in at No.17. NHL 18, NBA Live 18, and Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite were less fortunate in Europe compared to North America, failing to chart anywhere in the Top 20 (the notable releases that failed to chart in North America, also failed in Europe).

Elsewhere on the European charts, SUPERHOT VR extended its dominance of the PS VR chart, grabbing No.1, while Crash Bandicoot and Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation snatched the No.1 spots for the PS classics and PS Vita charts, respectively.
