PlayStation will be hosting a FIFA 19 Continental Cup 2018 during Paris Games week, October 26-28, which can be participated in from your own home.
This is the first official FIFA 19 Championships tournament and a major opportunity for 32 of the best FIFA players from around the globe to compete for points to apply toward a chance to attend the EA Sports FIFA 19 Global Series Playoffs, in addition to cash prizing and a trip to the UEFA Champions League Final in Madrid, Spain 2019.
Qualifying events will be taking place throughout October, beginning on the 6th through to the 14th. Only 32 players will have the opportunity to advance to the Continental Cup 2018 in Paris, France. The Continental Cup will be live streamed on Twitch, Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook.
Those who desire to compete will need an active PlayStation Plus subscriber, own a copy of FIFA 19, and be over 16 years of age in eligible countries, and be able to travel should they qualify. Each region will have one qualifier who can go to Paris Games Week. Qaulifiers are based on the FIFA 19 Ultimate Team Friendly Seasons Game mode and is a single elimination, best of 3 format. Each tournament can only have 2048 players total. During the Continental Cup participants will be eliminated after two losses, and will advance after two wins. Prize pool is 50,000 EUR total with the full breakdown as follows:
- 1st place- EUR 20000
- 2nd place- EUR 10000
- 3rd-4th place- EUR 4000
- 5th-8th place- EUR 2000
- 9th-16th place- EUR 500
FIFA Pro points are also rewarded to winners, with a breakdown as follows:
- 1st – 850
- 2nd – 450
- 3rd to 4th – 315
- 5th to 8th – 150
- 9th to 16th – 110
- 17th to 32nd – 80
