Developer Snail Games is releasing their new title, PixARK, into Steam’s Early Access and Xbox Games Preview on March 27th. The title mashes up the hit survival game, ARK: Survival Evolved, into a Minecraft-esque block world filled with 3D pixel dinosaurs and other creatures. In normal ARK: Survival Evolved fashion, players collect food and other items necessary for survival, train and ride various creatures and dinosaurs, and craft bases from the materials you gathered.
PixARK has both a single player and online multiplayer experience with character progression. Your worlds are randomly generated, so you will never play in the exact same atmosphere as before, and eight different biomes will integrate into each unique world you create. You can choose to dive into one of these creations filled with caves, jungles, deserts, and more, or you can simply choose to play PixARK‘s creative mode for imaginative thrills.
Outside of being available for Steam’s Early Access and the Xbox Games Preview on March 27, PixARK will be available for retail and digital purchase on the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One sometime later in 2018. For those unable to gain early access to PixARK on Steam or Xbox One, ARK: Survival Evolved has been officially released since last year in August. You can see the game’s Early Access trailer below:
